Secure connection failed error message in firefox and safari

Please help. I’ve been unable to access the Control Panel

I have done the following:
changed the settings for DNS on Firefox;
turned off extensions one by one
turned off avast and Malwarebytes
cleared cookies and cache
tried 2 different browsers
changed the Proxy in Firefox to Auto Detect and Use System

Firefox: Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to cpanel.infinityfree.com. PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

Error code: PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR

and in Safari:

This site can’t provide a secure connection

(please share the FULL error message you see, if applicable)

Other Information

Is it because VPanel/CPanel is down?
Is there another way to access the Control Panel?

Further to my initial post: Please also note that I can access the webpage via my phone normally; it uses the same VPN and shares the same settings as my web browser on the mac. So I’m not sure what is it about the mac which is causing the error.

im running Linux Mint 21.1 Cinnamon
for me it is loading without error using Firefox Browser 115.0 (64-bit) and Google Chrome 114.0.5735.198 (Official Build) (64-bit)

possibly it was just a temporary glitch in the system ?

The DNS settings for cpanel.infinityfree.com were just fixed. Either you checked it shortly before it was fixed, or you don’t see it yet because of DNS caching.

Please try clearing your device’s DNS cache.

I’m pretty confident that this is not a browser/extension/virus scanner issue.
