Restore Website

My website: www.sashamaltese.com

Hello,

I want some help about restoring. I have uploaded all the wp-contents, wp-admin and wp-includes of the folder of my domain. But there is no change at all.

How is it possible ? I want the back ups of my older website where I had another hosting provider.

What change are you expecting to see? I see a WordPress website running:

Did you also import the contents from your old database?

I have built a whole website with articles, pictures and videos etc. I don’t know where can I import old database to which folder. I just put to htdocs all those for my domain: wp-contents, wp-admin and wp-includes

Where can I find the database?

Well, where are you moving your old site from?

from hostinger to this new provider infinityfree. I have the back ups all files and database from customer service of hostinger in zip folder.

Okay, if you have the database from Hostinger, you’ll need to import it here. You can do so by following this guide:

I want all the guide step by step how to transfer the old site wordpress to this new provider

I have created a new database but I want to know what files and database where are located the back ups to convert them to zip? Because Hostinger gave me the back ups for both domains, I have two websites in one zip folder and I have separated this one and don’t know how to find to import the old wordpress website?

Try following this ^

SQL Imports are usually having the file extension of “.sql”, and not “.zip”

You will then need to upload all the files into the “htdocs” folder

How to do when I do not know which type of folder to upload and which one, I found only one sql database and uploaded to sql. Is there anyone who can assist here only to check if I put them correctly or how can I do with video tutorial?

For best practice, if your have two websites, having two databases will provide better clarity.
If everything is lumped into one database, good luck!

If you need more help, provide more info

I checked your account, and I see you have one database which contains multiple WordPress installations. One set of tables appears to have been created by Softaculous, and I’m assuming the other tables are from your backup.

You can choose which set of tables your WordPress installation uses through the wp-config.php file of your site. In it is a variable $table_prefix. It’s currently set to a value that looks like wpXX_. Some of the tables in your database have that same wpXX_ prefix, others only have the wp_ prefix.

So if you change the $table_prefix variable from wpXX_ to wp_, WordPress should start loading all your previous pages, posts, settings, etc.

For future reference: if you want to migrate an existing site, you don’t want to setup a new site. Simply copy ALL files of your website, import the database, update the database credentials, and everything will be as you left it. Transplanting content between installations is much more difficult than just moving the entire installation.
