Hey Admin, This is to inform you that Infinityfree Add Custom Domain Page and Control Panel Add Domain Section is checking eligibility differently.
“qd.je” is domain under DigitalPlat Free Domain, this domain is not available on Public Suffix List(PSL), But when adding this domain “firazserver.qd.je” or “.qd.je” in Infinityfree Add Custom Domain Page, getting “The custom domain cannot be a subdomain. You can add subdomains after adding the base domain to your account.” , which is correct, but when performing same action in Control Panel, in Parked Domain Page, it is getting success, if NS are point to infinityfree nameservers. I just want to report this issue.
The client area does local validation where possible for UX purposes, which does mean that it may not align completely with how the upstream platform validates domains.
The client area uses the Public Suffix List as authoritative source on custom domains. The control panel uses a different system, and I’m not entirely sure how it works.
In this case, I would argue that the control panel is wrong, not the client area. qd.je is not an officially delegated domain extension managed by a recognized registry, it’s just a domain they registered and are using to hand out subdomains, just like we do with xo.je. Without that PSL recognition, there is really no way to tell if this is a real “domain” or just a domain someone is using to setup spam subdomains.
I just want to know that this would not lead to suspension of account? And why don’t you make changes in control panel rules to align with your rules of client panel? Or it is under iFastNet Hand to perform the following changes?
VistaPanel was made by iFastNet and Admin can’t really change it’s functionality too much in a meaningful way. The client area was made by Admin though, and they have direct control over it.
No, this will not lead to account suspension. We’ve never retroactively suspended accounts because they were using an addon domain which is actually a subdomain. We may change/fix this behavior in the future which will prevent you from hosting such domains again, but that does not affect websites already using such domains.
