My domain Jardinfer.cl is currently linked to my old InfinityFree account. Unfortunately, I lost access to that account because I dont remember credentials.
Message is: “The selected custom domain is already in use on cloudy.eu.org. If this is your custom domain, please remove it from any other accounts first”
Please either:
Remove this domain from the old account, or
Permanently delete the old account so I can add this domain to my new InfinityFree account.
I am the owner of the domain and can verify it if required.
Kindly help me resolve this issue so I can continue hosting my site.
Because both hosting services use the exact same infrastructure. If you can remember, or find your credentials for your cloudy.eu.org account, you can delete it from there yourself. Failing that, you could contact somebody at that company (if you can find the details anyway) to try and remove it for you.
If you change the DNS records of the domain in question, then your site will be deactivated for inactivity after not receiving any visitors for 30 days. But even then, you would only be able to add the domain onto an InfinityFree account after the old account has been fully deleted (usually 20-60 days after being deactivated).
The issue is that I own the domain www.jardinfer.cl. I registered it with NIC myself. I currently have Cloudflare SSL and Freehosting services configured. Therefore, I don’t understand why Infinityfree appears as linked to my domain.
Both InfinityFree and that cloudy.eu.org resells from the same upstream provider MyOwnFreeHost/iFastNet. iFastNet’s underlying system doesn’t allow hosting the same domain on different providers.
Your domain is not linked to InfinityFree. It was linked to iFastNet, and this check is always tested against iFastNet instead of InfinityFree.
