Regarding domain aliases

Website URL

I have a domain A parked on domain B. what will happen if I remove/delete domain B from my account?

because I plan not to use domain B any longer, while the folder name is domain B. I am afraid that if domain B is purchased by others, it will cause problem.

Do you mean that I just need to delete domain B, or do you mean that removing domain B will cause problem? Is there any way that I can remove domain B and change the folder name to domain A?

Remove domain A from alias and add it as addon domain.
Then migrate website from domain B to domain A

Thank you. I have adopted the copy method in this article. Thank you again!

In this example, domain A will just keep working no matter what happens to domain B. No matter whether you own the domain or not, or keep the domain on the account or not, once the domain is setup, it’s setup.

Please understand that the only thing a “parked domain” does is that when the domain is created, it’s assigned to the htdocs directory of an existing domain instead of a new htdocs directory. There is no actual relation to the domain itself.

So there is zero reason to add or remove domains or move files around.

First, Admin is exactly right. Removing domain B will not remove the /b/htdocs path. As long as you don’t rename the “b” folder, you’re fine.

Not with the file structure, no. It may cause issues if your customers still use it and now find it no longer hosts your website, but no issues will be caused from the hosting side.
