Can you please try using a desktop FTP client such as FileZilla? The online file manager has stability issues sometimes. Also, make sure that you’re trying to upload the file in the correct directory.
I guess I’m giving up using HTML, I’ll use WordPress instead.
That… is an interesting reaction. Please note that sometimes using WordPress will necessitate having to edit or change files on your account through FTP, and using the online file manager will have the same stability issues then that you’re dealing with now. The problem has nothing to do with whether you’re using a CMS or not.
Just use WinSCP for FTP, works fine for me. I also tried the website’s file manager, it has issues. Had the same problem you see now… plus that I can not properly unpack ZIP files, can not remember from top of my head others, but there were more issues which made me stop using it.
Just use any FTP Client and should be fine.
Filezilla is the best for FTP transfers
That’s probably a limitation of FTP itself, not the FTP client you’re using. FTP has no way to extract zip files on the server. So if you upload a zip file and then need to extract it, then your only option is to download the zip file, extract it locally, and upload the extracted files. This is also what the file manager does, which is why it’s so fragile and slow.
Thank you for the reply.
That’s the way I did it, extract locally and upload manually, before just using a regular FTP which is better.
And I understand that it is FTP itself, but still in your File Manager there is an option to extract archived files. That us confusing for people.
Also, I can create new files, edit files, and delete files but I can’t upload files from my computer.
