Premium Hosting cyber security

I was wondering… What is the cyber security level of the Premium Hosting?

Is there an auditing mechanism?

I am considering going to Starter Premium at first (without security audits). That said, in the long run, I am thinking on utilizing the Ultimate Premium plan for the hosting, while keeping data (some of which is sensitive personal data), so this will require some security auditing.

Premium hosting have a less intrusive and more sophisticated security measure builtin. In this regard it’s probably better than free hosting.

I don’t know what do you meant by “auditing” because many things could be audited on a hosting account, but I do believe Premium Hosting have those auditing features one would usually expect.

Thanks. I got the information I need in this regard.

iirc iFastNet premium runs on CloudLinux and their HardenedPHP, so PHP security are taken care of automatically. They *probably* have KernelCare for livepatch but its the best you ask them directly after getting your premium account.

Otherwise it’s just cPanel, i do not believe your files or database are encrypted on the drive tho. Your Roundcube emails stored with them are not encrypted either. You do get your own linux user account + a limited terminal

There is also Immunify360 antivirus, SiteLock, ModSecurity

(These are just some info I remember a few years back when i had their starter plan, i cancelled it for a while now so I can’t answer you specific questions, and things may have changed since then)

If your data is really sensitive you probably should not use shared hosting and choose a VPS or a dedicated server

I’m curious what kind of security auditing you are referring to.

iFastNet doesn’t have any security certification like ISO 27001, which would require external auditing.

iFastNet does take appropriate effort to protect their systems against attacks, both fully external ones and from customers running on their system. But again, this is not formally audited. This protection also extends to the websites hosted on the platform, but keep in mind that iFastNet only provides you with hosting, not website administration, so monitoring your website and code specifically is not part of the package. If you’re looking to have someone audit the security of your website specifically, I suggest hiring someone with the task to do so, because this is not something that hosting providers typically do (and if they offer it, it’s generally a paid addon).

I think that the information provided by @SpookyKipper is enough for me.

I was thinking of things like having encrypted drives etc.

No need, as I can also do the really heavy lifting myself using dedicated hardware\software.

As long as the “Frontend” is generally secured, I’m good.

Thank you all.

Interestingly on their new AI-generated https://byet.host/ site they have ISO 27001 in the footer, idk if its real or not
