Poiting domain to squarespace

well i followed that and got locked and suspended and couldnt see the files I uploaded. I don’t think they actually has support email.

I believe I made an error while pointing my Squarespace domain to your website. Could you help me remove the current settings? I’m not sure what went wrong and hope to get some assistance.

I see that you had an account for pivotk12.rf.gd, added the .com domain to it (which is correct). But then proceeded to delete all the domains from that account and create completely separate accounts for pivotk12.rf.gd and pivotk12.com.

Both the .rf.gd domain and the .com domain now each have a new, blank WordPress site on it.

What domain you want is clear, what’s not entirely clear to me is what website should be shown on it. Do you want the website that’s currently on pivotk12.rf.gd to be shown on it? Or something else?

Is it possible that I can restore my website on my rf.gd? My goal is that when I open the .com domain, it will display the content from.rf.gd`. I think i did it wrong while setting it up. I hope this is clear enough. Is it possible to remove .com one out off Wordpress also?? Thank you! Please let me know if there are any steps I could take> I also think what went wrong was I put the nameservers of infinity to squarespace ??

If you deleted it and don’t have a backup, no, its not. Check PHPMyAdmin and see if the old install is still there.

So you want .rf.gd to redirect to .com, and the WP site to be hosted on .com?

Have .com be an addon domain, then park rf.gd onto it (Use the 'Parked domain’s section). Then setup your WordPress siteURL to be .com

I did export the files from WP before the site went wrong, is that okay too?

Based on what I see, I would like to suggest the following:

  1. Remove the .rf.gd domain and the .com domain from the newly created accounts, and add them back to your original account if0_36549057.
    • There is nothing wrong with the account, and that account probably still holds you original website, so reusing that will probably be easiest.
    • Note that this won’t automatically restore the website on the rf.gd domain, because it will be assigned to a different directory.
  2. Move your WordPress website from the htdocs folder to the pivotk12.com/htdocs folder on the account you just added the domains to: How to move a website to a different directory
  3. Update the website URL in WordPress: Migrating WordPress – Advanced Administration Handbook | Developer.WordPress.org

Once you have completed these steps, the website that was originally on the rf.gd domain will be live on the .com domain.

In terms of DNS, you setup everything correctly, and you had actually setup your domain correctly last Saturday. But by removing the domains and creating new accounts with them, you created completely new and completely separate websites, which is not what you want if you want to move a website to a new domain.
