Pointing my infinityfree domain to an external site using Cloudns

Other Information

I was trying to setup cloudns on my infinityfree website, so I could make play.twangcraft.rf.gd take people to my minecraft server. They asked me to set a couple NS records I think and I have no idea how to do that. Can anyone help me?

Impossible.

Please be adviced that our subdomains can only be used within our hosting, and cannot be used elsewhere with the sole expection of premium hosting.

You can try to emulate the A record with a CNAME record. But you’ll probably end up needing your own domain.

uh yes- but about the A record part? How do i do that? How does it work?

Since play.twangcraft.rf.gd is a sub-subdomain, you can create CNAME records for it to point to your own server.

A CNAME record works similar to a A record, both can point a domain to some place.

But unlike A records which can work with just an IP address, a CNAME record only works with another domain.

Which means that if you wish to point play.twangcraft.rf.gd to your own server, you must have yet another domain pointing to your server. Which still cannot be done by just using a free subdomain from us.

I suggest you to just purchase a domain. It’s not that expensive, and you can connect it to any DNS services you like, including ClouDNS.

okay, I have an idea. What if I pointed it towards the domain where my server is hosted on, and then I go to the port it’s on? So then I do play.TwangCraft.rf.gd:25893
Will that work? I’ve already setup the cname.

Yes, that looks good!

You may test whether your server works properly or not.
