I’ve just tried a “Softaculous Apps Installer” install of Firefly III however the version installed requires PHP8. I can only see 7.4 as the max version? Can 8 be added or should I look for an older version of the app?
Thanks

As for as now 7.4 is the higher PHP version!
In future may be 8 will be added if its needed!
PHP 8 will be added eventually, but right now PHP 7.4 is the latest version of PHP available.
Looking through the code of Firefly, it seems that version 5.6 and later require PHP 8, but version 5.5 supports PHP 7.4. So perhaps you could run the latest 5.5.x version of Firefly until PHP 8 is available?
Makes sense. Is it possible to get the version downgraded in the install tool?
If not, I’ll go through the manual steps for the right version. Thanks for the hints
No. Softaculous only supports the latest version (That I know of).
I checked, and while sometimes Softaculous offers multiple versions (and lets you choose which one you want during installation), for Firefly III they only seem to offer the latest version.
