prestashop 9 is beta version right now… Finally, I would not use Infinityfree.com’s services and would not advise my customers. Too many restrictions, especially with the PHP version. Thanks again for the answer.
Please understand that PHP 8.1 is already pretty old, so it’s really Prestashop’s fault than they don’t have an actively supported version of PrestaShop that works with an actively supported version of PHP.
Having a PHP version selector that lets you run older PHP version would let you work around this, but running on outdated PHP versions is never a good idea, and should only ever be used as a stop gap measure (although we’re well aware that it’s almost always used as an “if it’s not broken, don’t fix it” solution to run terribly outdated websites). PHP version selection is an advanced feature that’s not available with all hosting providers.
So I’m sad to hear that you will discourage others from using InfinityFree simply because we don’t offer a non-standard feature that most well-maintained websites should never need.
