Other Information

My live site rcplayzoneandcafe.ifree.page shows “Password reset is temporarily unavailable.” The password_reset_tokens table exists in the site database. Could you check the PHP error log for this domain around october 23 2026, 2:32pm philippines?

Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.

  • Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
  • Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
  • AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.
  • Solving an issue is a joint effort. Try the suggestions you get and report back what happened.

Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look.

There’s no PHP error log for me, or anyone else, to check. Free hosting doesn’t keep PHP or web server error logs, so the way to see the real error is to show it on the page.

Here’s the article on how to do that:

In the control panel, open Alter PHP Config, pick your domain, set Display Errors to On and save. Then reload forgot_password.php. Turn it off again afterwards, because every visitor can see the errors.

The sentence “Password reset is temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.” looks like a message written in your own PHP code, probably in a catch block or an if that fails. That would hide the real database or mail error behind it. If Display Errors shows nothing, the article says to look for ini_set('display_errors', 0); or error_reporting(0); in your code.

Can you post the part of forgot_password.php that prints that message, including the query or mail call just before it? If your code catches an exception there, printing $e->getMessage() temporarily would show what actually fails.

Free hosting practically does not come with mail(), so you need to use SMTP. How exactly to implement that is entirely up to you and we cannot assist you with this.

You will need to check this for the website software you’re using, but it’s not uncommon for website software to have an admin password reset escape hatch in case email doesn’t work. Sometimes this can be done with a setting in the configuration file, and sometimes you can manually reset the password through the database.

Alternatively, since you have access to the database, you might be able to just grab the reset token from there and construct the reset URL yourself. But again, this depends on how the website software works.

I cannot guarantee you that this option is available to you, but it’s probably easier than having to setup email for this.
