I installed it using Script Installer provided by Softaculous, but after install it gave a confirmation that it had successfully installed OpenCart in my site. But upon opening the admin site or the viewer site, it would give a 404 error. Any ideas why this error is coming up?
The gist is that OpenCart can work on our hosting but needs some additional modifications after installation to make it work. The article has the exact steps you need, so I see no need to repeat them here.

Or if this entire thing seems too much of hassle, you could also consider switching to a different e-commerce package that’s less of a hassle to set up.
Anyways, due to @Admin’s Tutorial of installing OpenCart for that ocartdata folder was really easy and understandable. Thank you so much @Admin and InfinityFree for making me this work. I didn’t forget @dan3008 and @Meishin for helping me out and clarifying some doubts for me.
