Sorry, I’m not used to posting here.
My website url is: buryrifleclub.org.uk
What I’m seeing is: no emails received from the forwards that I have set up.
I’m using this software: Cyberduck.
Additional information: I have set up the following email forwards:
alan
webmaster
(sorry the forum won’t let me post the full address)
These are forwarded to my personal email addresses.
I have sent numerous emails in the last few days none of which have been delivered. I got some delivery failure notifications at first, now I get nothing.
Both of these have worked successfully for the last few years on my previous hosting site. As far as I can tell they are not being rejected by my email provider (Virgin media).
The MX record is set to: mx.epizy.com
Thanks
Could you please check the points from this article and see if they apply to your domain?
I have read the article shown above and I can confirm that the MX record is correctly set.
I set up the email account [email protected] as suggested and sent two emails to it. Both were received successfully. To forward this account to my private email I would have to delete it. I have left it on the server for the time being so that it can be checked. Please advise on further action. Thanks
Thank you for checking the article.
If you can receive email with an email account but not through a forwarder, that likely means that the email provider you’re forwarding the message to is rejecting the messages.
Getting forwarded email delivered is often quite hard, because it’s impossible to distinguish between a forwarded email and a forged email. Gmail is notably quite strict with forwarded email, but other providers may have similar bad luck.
Combine that with the fact that we’ve had some deliverability problems on the free hosting mail sever, and I think it’s quite clear what the issue is.
We’re working to tackle the deliverability problems with the free hosting mail server, which should help a bit. But in general, this is to be expected from email forwarding.
It’s Working!
Today I changed the mx to my original website host to see if it would work. Unfortunately it did not, but I did get some Undelivered Mail returns from Virgin Media.
I set up the forwards again on Infinityfree and reset the mx record.
It started to work almost immediately. I can now send emails to webmaster and alan.
I don’t know if it had anything to do with what I did but its working!
If you fixed it Admin, thanks.
The mail server sending was moved to a different network, which is not suffering so much from blacklisting issues. This should help make the email delivery work more reliably.
