Hello. I am hoping you can help me get started. I have my nameservers at Squarespace set to:

ns1.infinityfree. com (space added intentionally)
ns2.infinityfree. com

I have a simple web site with an index.html file set up at Infinityfree, but I’m getting this message. Can someone walk me through the troubleshooting? I haven’t had a hosted site for many years, so I’m pretty rusty and I’m also new to both Squarespace and Infinityfree.

Thanks for any assistance.

it looks like you have not yet installed a ssl certificate (required for https)

Hey, thank you so much. I walked through the “how to” page, but the Create New Order button failed, giving me this error message:

SSL certificate error: The provider encountered an error verifying the DNS settings of your domain name. Please double check your nameserver settings and try again later.

Error detail: DNS problem: looking up TXT for _acme-challenge.briankiser.com: DNSSEC: DNSKEY Missing

I went back to Squarespace, and it looks fine as far as I can tell:

You’ll have to disable DNSSEC from squarespace first, as our servers don’t support it, and will effectively prevent your domain from working at all.

Thanks, Frank! I deleted that DNSSEC record from Squarespace. It didn’t work instantly, but I’m going to give it a bit and see if that solves my problem. I appreciate the help!

Woot! I feel like I am definitely a couple of steps closer–thank you Frank and lovebug! I am now getting this message when I go to my site. I’m not using a template–I have an index.html file in my htdocs folder. Any idea what I might be missing now? I feel like I’m soooo close here.

This?

But I don’t have a spb_index.php file? Just an index.php file.

Just delete the existing index.php and upload your own

Oh. I am not a php guy… the hosting site apparently created it and my site doesn’t use php. What should i put in it?

Your own file(s)

No, you activated Site.Pro in the first place

Never mind! I just added an “.old” extension so the site would ignore it, and I’m good now. Thanks for your help as well!
