Need to remove original free domain

I opened this account before I had my domain name. Now I have my domain I have added it and pointed to the nameservers but my free account still shows Joli-maison.lovestoblog.com as the main domain and the new domain has no email etc attached to it..
Please can I just delete this setup and start again somehow? I’ve not even started the website :see_no_evil_monkey:

The main domain have to be a free subdomain. This is Admin’s decision and there’s no way to change that.

I’m not sure what the actual issue you are having right now. You said “it has no email etc attached” but free hosting doesn’t have emails to start with.

Ah ha..I didn’t realise that! So do I just upgrade from my existing free account? ..or create a new one..

You don’t have to do either. If you’ve added the custom domain to your account you can use it just fine. The original domain that’s used to label the hosting account doesn’t actually matter.

I think the “main domain” is conflating a few different issues right now.

  • The actual “main domain” of your account is an internal identifier, and looks like an 8 character subdomain under infinityfree.com. You cannot choose this, and it doesn’t affect your website. joli-maison.lovestoblog.com is NOT your account’s main domain, it’s probably just the domain you chose while creating the account.
  • The initial domain of your account is just one of the domains on your account. There is no distinction between primary domains and secondary domains. If you don’t care to keep the free, you can just remove it from your account.
  • One of the things you may be confused about is the Account Label. The default account label for your account is probably “Website for joli-maison.lovestoblog.com”. But the account label is a free text field, and you can change it to whatever you want. It’s just something to help you identify your account.
