HTTP ERROR 500

I have uploaded simple machine forum, and it redirects to install.php but nothing happens. It’s been like this since 2026-02-20, I thought it was DNS that needs to be resolved, there was a warning of waiting for 3 days, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

An error 500 usually means that the PHP has crashed. This is most often due to an error in the code. But with code you’ve got from elsewhere it could be that its designed for an old PHP version that’s not compatible, or that its calling a blocked function thats blocked here.

Thank you, it was not that but something else, but you pushed me in the right direction. I didn’t upload the folders by using file manager (I thought it would upload folders and everything), so I switched to FTP and it works now. Thank you for help

Just for future reference: SMF is also available through the Softaculous installer. That way, you just enter your website details and the rest of the installation is done automatically, no need to worry about transferring the files yourself.
