Google Chrome shows a red “Deceptive site ahead” warning. Google Search Console reports “Deceptive pages” with no sample URLs.
Other Information
Hello. This is a school project website. It works correctly on my local WAMP server. After I tested the registration form on the published website, Google Chrome started showing a dangerous site warning. My InfinityFree hosting account is active. I checked my website files and did not find any unfamiliar files. I need the published website for my school presentation. Could you please help me investigate whether there is a hosting issue or suspicious content on my website? Thank you.
Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.
Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.
Solving an issue is a joint effort. Try the suggestions you get and report back what happened.
Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look.
This warning comes from Google Safe Browsing’s automated scanners, not from the hosting account. Your account being active doesn’t affect it. The usual way to clear it is through Google Search Console.
Our article on this warning explains what it means and how to get it removed:
The short version:
In Search Console, open the “Security Issues” section for your site. It may show more than the “Deceptive pages” report you’ve seen.
Fix anything it lists. If it lists nothing and you’re sure the site is clean, the article says it can be a false positive.
Use “Request a review” in Search Console. Google then checks the site by hand and lifts the block if it’s fine.
The article says these scanners are AI-based, so the exact reason for a flag can be hard to pin down. A registration form on a brand-new site could be what triggered it. In another topic, a login page was the thing Google flagged, and the answer there said Safe Browsing tends to flag login pages. That could be the same thing here, but nothing confirms it yet.
Here’s that topic:
If Search Console gives no sample URLs, tell me what the registration form asks for and whether the page looks like it’s imitating another site or brand. That would help narrow down what the scanner might have picked up.
Thank you. My registration form asks for a name, email address, password, and a role (student or teacher). The warning first appeared after I tested the registration form, and then it started appearing on the homepage too. I have already submitted a review request in Google Search Console. Could you please advise me on what to check next?
