Is that warning really preventing you from importing the content? The Import Demo button doesn’t seem to be disabled. Many times, script just tell you that you’re not meeting the recommended settings, but will let you try anyway.

The “critical error” just means that something crashed in WordPress. It could be that it’s caused by the POST size limit, but it could be something else.
Could you please try enabling WP_DEBUG mode and then try it again? That should give you an actual error message about the issue, which would help us identify the issue so we can try to solve it.

This is extremely helpful! This tells us exactly where the error happens, and the function name gives some clues as to what it could be.
The function is called “chmod” which is related to file permissions. So based on that, it seems unlikely that the POST size is the issue.
Having a look at the specific code of that function, I think I see the issue.
Essentially, we have disabled the chmod function on our hosting. There is no legitimate reason to ever use it, it doesn’t fix any issues you may have, but can cause a lot of issues if used incorrectly. But I think that the specific way we disabled chmod, it is causing the redux-framework plugin code to crash.
I will submit a request upstream to get this fixed. In the mean time, you can manually edit the source code to work around this.
- Open the file manager.
- Go to the file
carnomics.is-great.net/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/redux-framework/redux-core/inc/classes/class-redux-filesystem.php. - Find the chmod function, which should start at line 666 (search for
public function chmod). - A few lines before that should be the line
return $return;. Simply change that toreturn true;.
After that, you should be able to import your demo content without this error.

Just to let you know, the issue should now be fixed on our side as well. So if you haven’t made the code changes yet, please try importing the demo content again and see if it works now.

If you want to find out why, could you try again with WP_DEBUG enabled once more and share the error messages so we can see what’s going on? Maybe our fix didn’t solve the issue, or maybe there is another issue that also prevents the import from working.

But Importing Demo will reset the whole website & it’s file.. wait I think backup & restore theme settings.
