Is there a a reason why Malware Bytes keeps flagging my pages as insecure? Can I do anything to keep that from happening?
Hello
Most likely, they found something on your site that they don’t like.
You can always contact their support and ask for details.
ive found that malwarebytes premium has blocked about half of infinityfree’s subdomain names, I keep reporting to them about the false positives and they have been removing them
possibly this is the issue ?
what is your website url ?
Last page flag was Moms for Liberty Santa Clara County
The main page, https://momsforlibertysantaclara.com, has also been flagged.
as you are using your own domain name and not an infinityfree subdomain its not the false positive issue i was thinking of
i just visited both of those links and have no issues with my malwarebytes
im not what is causing the issue with your malwarebytes
Yeah, I don’t see the problem either. But I keep hearing from people who tell me that they’re not going to visit the page, given that Malware Bytes is flagging it as “risky”…
It also could be the security settings on a specific instillation of malware bytes, or the browser/computer/network creating a block and malware bytes is overriding it and placing their own error.
None the less, it is very hard to troubleshoot something that you cannot see. Ask the people who are talking to you to send a screenshot (And if they can), the details or log entry(s) regarding the block.
I don’t use, and never have used malware bytes myself, so I don’t know where to find this information, if it is even available.
Free subdomains are mostly used for fraus, spaming, phishing, or illegal things, thats why most of them are blocked by most Internet Security services.
Yes. But as I say, this domain name is not a free subdomain, it’s a normal domain name, so something else seems to be causing the grief…
Because MalwareBytes is an antivirus that monitors all incoming and outgoing connections, it can also see the IP of your website, and if you aren’t using Cloudflare, it can see the 185.26.134.X ip, and it could have been flagged. Also expanding on the above, it may scan the incoming content and decides that it doesn’t like it, and again, flag it. I think the best solution here is to submit a report to MalwareBytes that your site is safe.
I will do that.
Thanks, everyone, for the input. Much appreciated.
Last we left off…

So yes, I contacted MalwareBytes and opened ticket 3986962, the final conclusion of which was “I would recommend contacting the hosting company to alert them to the malicious items that are on the same server in which your website is hosted and request them to address it.”
Can this be addressed? Or do I need to look for a different hosting company?
Thanks.
Hey there.
Shared hosting is the most common type of hosting as it is the cheapest.
Free hosting is shared hosting that is free. Each server can host thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of sites.
Unfortunately, if there is one bad site, some software whos developers don’t care, are lazy, etc will block the entire IP. It is very hard for us to scan every site for bad content. And even if we remove such sites, antivairus software will still block it, thinking it will happen again.
Paid shared hosting (Like premium hosting), is better, but still has this issue.
If you want to truly get rid of the issue, you will need a dedicated server, and those cost quite a bit of money.
Unfortunately, this is one of the downsides of free stuff. No matter who you host with, if it’s free, it will have this problem sooner or later.
That depends. Did Malwarebytes also provide any information on what needs to be addressed?
Because if not, there is no much we can do. We host hundreds of thousands of accounts, some with multiple domains and all with many pages. We can’t know everything everyone is doing and stop all bad content perfectly.
It may even be possible that whatever caused Malwarebytes to block the IP was fixed months ago. But we can’t check that, let alone prove it, without knowing what they found.
I would be really sad if you had to leave us because of the arrogance of your antivirus company. But please understand that we can’t address something that’s being kept hidden from us.
My apologies. I meant to include the link to the file showing the problems.
virustotal(dot)com / gui / ip-address / 185.27.134.125 / relations
Let me know if you need me to post the actual file.
I very much appreciate your looking into this.
I don’t really care about the specific file. I don’t care what file they found, I can’t lookup websites based on file signatures. And hashing all files on all accounts for a file that may or may not exist isn’t feasible.
What does help me are URLs. URLs (or rather domain names) are things I can lookup and trace.
I checked all the recent URLs on that page, but all the URLs that were found to have viruses have already been taken down. Many reports that cause a URL to get flagged at VirusTotal also end up at us, and sites get taken down very quickly if that happens.
Again from Malwarebytes:
Hello,
Thank you for your reply.
The VirusTotal link that was provided should contain the information needed to identify these items. They may need to click on the items to view the additional details needed to locate the items.
If they need additional assistance navigating VirusTotal, I would recommend contacting VirusTotal.
