If you have your recovery codes, then you should be able to set up a new authenticator app using those codes. Or reinstall the origional app and use the codes to get it set up properly
Sorry I miss read your post and thought you said you had the codes. I should stop interneting when its past 11pm…
As Edward said below, there’s not really anything we can do to help recover the account if you’ve lost that.
I’m sorry but there’s nothing you can do without either access to the app, or one of your recovery codes. InfinityFree doesn’t disable two factor authentication based on email alone, since it’s already one of the authentication methods.
Hello,
Thank you for your response. I understand your security policy. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to my authenticator app or recovery codes.
I still have access to the original account email and can verify any account details if needed. Please let me know if there is any alternative recovery option available.
Thank you.
I’m sorry, but there is not. If you have the FTP credentials for the hosting account, you can back it up and move it to a new client area account.
Unfortunately this is an inherent risk with 2FA if you don’t have more than one backup copy of your recovery codes.
To add to this: if you know the account username and have access to the associated email address, you can use that to reset your hosting account password using the control panel: Reset password
To be very clear: this is the only case where you should ever do this, and you should only use this access to backup your data and disconnect the domains. Not everything can be done through the control panel, and you don’t want to be caught with your pants down and your website completely inaccessible because you don’t have full access to your account.
