To me that sits very close to the line on the no gambling rule. In my honest opinion, if its a free giveaway, I think you’re ok. But you may want to wait for admin’s opinion on it 
To be honest, a “free giveaway” website seems even sketchier than an actual gambling site to me. Those are the kinds of websites that promise free stuff, then send you through a maze of ads and “surveys” to get it only to come back with some nonsense reason at the end (“out of stock”, “technical issue”) to not give you the stuff.
But from your description, it doesn’t seem like you’re doing that kind of thing. What you’re describing is just a gamification feature, similar to what many other shops have. As long as the main purpose of your site is e-commerce, I don’t see any problem with some gamification on the side.
Thats what I meant by giveaway.
Yeh the first type of site you describe does sound more sketchy
