Hello… My site was on the loco-hb.ir domain and SEO was done. 2 weeks ago I changed the domain to loco81.ir, even though I registered the new domain in Google Search Console, the SEO on the previous domain remains. The new domain is now fully indexed and I have completely deleted the previous domain. I asked the support of the site where I purchased my domain and they said there was an error in Google robots regarding SSL on the new domain. What should I do?
Yes, when searching for site:loco81.ir, my site comes up in the results, but when searching for specific words like my name or the site name, the site with the previous domain comes up in the results. In the removals section of Google Console, I removed the previous domain from the indexes, now when searching for specific words, neither the previous domain nor the new domain comes up in the results.
Google has nothing indexed for the old domain, only the new domain, which is what you seem to want.
However Google does not transfer any rankings from your old website to your new one. Any rankings you had are gone, you may never get them back, or it may take months/years for your new domain to rank in the same position.
In the future, don’t remove a domain name, redirect it. Setting up a 301 redirect tells Google the site has moved, and Google may choose to start ranking the new site instead of the old one.
You may still be able to salvage your SEO by setting up the redirect now.
But please understand if you want to transfer the rankings of a website, the way to do that is by redirecting. If you completely delete one website and create a new website with the same content, then that does not tell Google that the website was moved.
