Hey there!
Looking at your website, it seems you are using lots of images. When you create a file or upload something to the server, it will count as an Inode. I guess that’s why it’s at 93%. You should consider upgrading to premium if you are going to develop your website any further.
No I just used maximum 50 images
what can i do and will it cause any problem?
If you hit 100% your account will be suspended. And I am not quite sure if you delete those images/files it will reduce the Inode usage.
Take note this is not true for inodes. Account will not be suspended due to 100% usage due to inodes. Website may act weird though
Oh sorry my bad, I didn’t know that. Thank you for pointing it out!
Hi billal12,
Upon inspection on your side, most of the inodes are caused by having images converted into webp format of different sizing, therefore you actually store more than one copy for the same image, including the files that your plugin uses, this can add up very significantly and you’ll very easily run out of inodes.
Try removing the plugin that is used to create these images server side and use a CDN like Cloudflare instead to accelerate image loading speeds, alternatively, resize your images so that they fit at most 1920px and ideally use picture format yuvj420p (the same as WhatsApp that’s using).
Your website will not be suspended for high inode usage as the only impact is that you cannot create new files. With WordPress, not being able to create new files means no more media upload, or sitemap updates, visitor may encounter blank pages due to failed file creation attempts somewhere in your plugins and certain cached pages cannot be created.
Meanwhile, we’ve also identified that you have used a very large plugin tagDiv, which itself is very large for storing all the layout and theme files as you’ve also used Cloud Library, these files contribute to your inode usage as they cache their library preview on your hosting account. You can consider removing these caches or the entire plugin if possible.
Inode is a common issue for all web host and admins as this is the only limit that isn’t easily solved by money, but rather it’s a Unix file system nature, upgrading can get you to the next tier but eventually you still have to solve the problem at hand.
Good luck!
will it cause any problem
Hi billal12,
Depends on how you define a problem. Having users see a blank page can be or not be a problem for different web admins.
Cheers!
Please also note that the inode counter is only refreshed every 8 hours. So if it says you’re using 28,000 inodes but your account is empty, it’s safe to assume the counter is out of date.
