Incomplete SSL certificate chain and cloud browser connection failure

Error Message

Website: https://fiscalsarajevo.com
Server IP: 185.27.134.142

My website opens normally in my desktop and mobile browsers. However, ChatGPT’s cloud browser cannot open either the homepage or /wp-login.php. It reports:

“upstream connect error or disconnect/reset before headers. reset reason: remote connection failure”

SSL Labs gives the site grade B and reports:
“This server’s certificate chain is incomplete. Grade capped to B.”

The InfinityFree dashboard shows an installed Let’s Encrypt certificate expiring on 15 November 2026.

Could the incomplete certificate chain explain this connection failure? Is there a supported solution on free hosting, or another diagnostic step you recommend?

Other Information

The hosting account is Active. The website opens normally in my desktop and mobile browsers.

Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.

  • Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
  • Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
  • AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.
  • Solving an issue is a joint effort. Try the suggestions you get and report back what happened.

Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look.

I couldn’t find a source that says whether an incomplete chain causes this, so I can’t tell you yet.

The “upstream connect error… remote connection failure” text looks like it comes from ChatGPT’s side, not from your site, so it doesn’t show where the connection broke. It would help to know two things:

  1. Does it fail in other places too? For example, a different online tool that fetches your page, or a phone on mobile data instead of Wi-Fi. If other clients also fail the TLS handshake, the certificate chain becomes more likely. If only ChatGPT’s browser fails, the cause is more likely on its side, or in something that blocks automated visitors.
  2. Does ChatGPT fail on every page, or only on your site? Try it on another InfinityFree site if you can, or on any site you know works.

I also found a few other topics reporting the same SSL Labs “chain is incomplete” message on InfinityFree, but none of them has an answer I can cite. So I can’t say whether you can change the chain on free hosting.

Thank you. Here are the checks completed so far:

  • The website opens normally on my desktop and on my phone with Wi-Fi disabled, using mobile data. Both connections use the same provider.

  • ChatGPT’s cloud browser successfully opened https://example.com/, but both my homepage and /wp-login.php returned the same “remote connection failure” error.

  • SSL Labs reached the server and completed its test, reporting an incomplete certificate chain and grade B.

We have not confirmed whether the chain warning and the cloud browser failure are related. Could someone advise on the next diagnostic step and confirm whether the incomplete chain can be corrected on free hosting?

That’s because the security system blocks none browser connections.

This is expected and intentional

Thank you for clarifying that these connections are intentionally blocked.

Regarding the separate SSL issue, SSL Labs reports an incomplete certificate chain for fiscalsarajevo.com. Can this be corrected on InfinityFree free hosting, and if so, what steps should I follow?

As far as I understand it even though SSL labs reports this error, the SSL certificate works fine in all modern browsers so it’s not an issue
