I tried to install Postfix but I couldn’t. It says it is already installed, but it is not. Other email services are the same. I can’t install any email services. Softaculous asks me to uninstall and install again, but there is no email service installed. How do I resolve this?

What is the url?
Free hosting does not provide email services. Are you sure it will work?

I believe it is no longer supported on free hosting

I don’t understand anything about setting up websites. I came here to learn. And I didn’t see anywhere that there was no email. Even in my account’s cpanel there are settings for MX records, cname, spf. If there is no email in the free account, why did these adjustments be made available to me? And there’s this: There is no warning on my profile that I cannot have an email account here. Postfix and 2 other services are available

MX and SPF are provided so you can set up external services, not for internal services (which do not exist, as InfinityFree does not provide email hosting).

Are you trying to set up an email application to connect to an external provider via SMTP? What is your goal?

Just to be clear, Postfix and Postfix Admin are not the same.

Postfix is a mail server. You cannot install a mail server on a web hosting account, any mail service available on the web server will need to be provided by the hosting mail server. If you want to install your own mail server, you’ll need your own (virtual) server, not a hosting account.

But maintaining a mail server is pretty complicated, so you may want to just use a service that can provide mail for your domain. Like Zoho or ImprovMX.

Postfix Admin is a management interface for Postfix, letting you configure the settings through a web interface. But without a Postfix server to talk to, it’s not particularly useful. I don’t understand why Softaculous even offers it, the cases where both Softaculous is available and you have your own mail server that needs to be managed seem pretty rare to me.

Finally, the error message you see is what you see on the tin: according to the records in Softacouls, you already have another script installed in the same location. Even if you already deleted it yourself, or the installation never completed successfully in the first place, you’ll need to go into the All Installations list in Softaculous to uninstall the old site from there.
