By default, the server will look for a file named index.php, index.html or index.htm in the htdocs folder of your website. The files must have those exact names (case sensitive!) and be placed directly in the htdocs folder, not subdirectories. If you don’t have any file like that, you may get a 404 or 403 error.
You can change this behavior with .htaccess rules. But incorrect .htaccess rules can result in some or all URLs of your website to also not work.
To be able to help you effectively, can you please clarify:
index.php is my homepage when people try to access my website index.php is my homepage https://mathernal-health.epizy.com/index.php works when I enter it manualy ,and the code in.htaccess is
##################################################
#
# DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE
#
# Create a new .htaccess file in your htdocs
# directory (or example.com/htdocs/ directory)
# to add your own rules or override these rules.
#
##################################################
DirectoryIndex index.php index.html index.htm index2.html
Good to know that there is an index.php file there. That means it’s likely that incorrect .htaccess rules are breaking the home page.
However, to troubleshoot that, we need to know the .htaccess rules that are actually in the htdocs fodler. After all, that .htaccess file contains the rules that affect how your website works.
So what is the solution I have to wait You the Admin team ?
The situation is that I asked you two questions to help provide the necessary information to help you. You answered the first one, but only answered the second one partially and with the wrong information.
To help you, I still need you to answer this second question:
And to stress: I don’t need any random .htaccess file, I need the .htaccess file that contains the rules you setup of your website.
I will be waiting for you to provide the necessary information. Until then, I cannot help you.
And just to be clear: I don’t see anything suggesting that there is a problem with our hosting. I think the issue is probably caused by bad .htaccess rules, which are a problem with your website code, which is your responsibility to fix.
We’re happy to assist you with fixing issues with your website, but ultimately it’s your website, and you are responsible for maintaining it.
