I got bombed email message from infinityfree.com that my account was deleted

I got an email from infinityfree, that my account has been deleted because it has been inactive for 18 months (even though I am active several days a week)
So I re-registered again after opening that email.
And now I am still being sent the same email that my account has been deleted due to inactivity for 18 months by Infinityfree.com after I re-registered my account.
This incident just started this morning, western Indonesian time.
Please fix it if there is a system error
This is my account that due to their impact: HIDDEN
I will include picture proof as well that I was spammed by infinityfree

So there are two bugs at once:

  • Your account was flagged for automatic deletion even though it is still being actively used (and even had a hosting account attached to it).
  • When your account was deleted, you received many duplicate messages about it.

Neither of these issues is obviously supposed to happen.

For an immediate fix, I was able to find your previously activate hosting account, and linked it to the profile your just created. Thankfully, only the reference to the account was removed in our system, the account itself was still there.

With that said, did you also get an email a month ago saying that your account was going to be deleted? Or did this deletion come out of the blue?

According to our logs, all emails were sent in the span of one hour. However, it’s possible that it takes a while to trickle in.

I will look into it soon, but my attention is currently taken up by the far more severe issue of active profiles being deleted, even while having active hosting accounts associated with it. I hope you can understand that you, and an unknown number of other people, permanently losing access to their accounts, is quite a bit worse than getting the same email multiple times.

An update about the issue.

I found the original bug causing the profile deletion: when your profile was scheduled for deletion, then doing something would not automatically remove the scheduled deletion. So, basically, once you got the email, your account would get removed.

That’s fixed now, so it should not happen again.

Regarding the profiles already affected by it, I was able to retrieve the deleted profiles that had activity since receiving the email. All users and their data have been restored.

I did have to delete the account you used to post it since it was technically a duplicate. But you now have full access to both the accounts on your old profile and the ones on your new profile.

As for the repeated email issue, I still haven’t been able to find the root cause for that. I have added additional logging to get a better insight, but we’ll have to wait for the next cleanup batch to learn more.
