I could not upload my theme demo because it exceeds 10 Mb

Hi,

I could not upload my theme demo because it exceeds 10 Mb, I have tried to unzip the folder and upload it on wp-content but still no results.

Could you please provide me with either a screent shot showing me the exact place where to upload it . I have tried different folders without any results.

Please help :frowning:

I’m not exactly sure what you mean by a theme demo, but a WordPress theme should be uploaded to the wp-content/themes/ directory. Every theme has it’s own directory in that folder.

Thank you for your reply, a theme demo is a ready template on you wordpress website, all widgets are in place you just edit them by putting your own texts, images, and social media links .

It will show like this : Colormag – Gutenberg-based WordPress Template Site to publish articles for your newspaper, magazine, or blog

I have uploaded my theme because it is integrated in wordpress, but the theme demo has to be uploaded . do i create a folder after unzipping the file in : wp-content/themes/ ‘‘my theme’’ / ‘‘theme demo’’ ???

WordPress doesn’t have standard way to install demo content as far as I know. And while the page you linked to is a demo of that theme, I could only find a download link of the theme without any content.

Where and how did you get the demo content? Are there installation instructions or download links for the demo content?

Thanks a lot for your concern, I have uploaded a theme on wordpress called Color Mag, I did upload it successfully but the demo theme could not be uploaded , you can see the step of the demo theme on this video link below at exactly the second minute 2:00 on the video

Thank you, that video really helped explain it. So it looks like ThemeGrill have their own demo importer plugin which you can install and then use to upload the demo content.

If I understand your first message correctly, you say you were able to install the demo importer plugin but were not able to upload the demo content through it? The demo zip file used in the video only looked like it was a few hundred kB, which should be no problem to upload. You say you used a different demo file which was larger than 10 MB?

If the different demo you’re using is larger than 10 MB, I’m not sure how you would install it. That depends on whether the plugin offers a way to upload the demos through FTP, but it would be up to ThemeGrill to provide that functionality.

Thanks a lot for following up on my case. I did actually follow all the stemps , I downloaded the demo zip file, upon uploading the file I receive a message , I took a screenshot , please have a look and let me know.

That’s… not a very information error message. I have no clue what issue could generate a message “please try again” .

I have managed to unzip the theme demo file, and I have put it on cpanel ‘’ uploads folder’’ .

It worked all fine, but when I click on import it tell me : Import failed: The XML file dummy content is missing.

I have check the dummy content file and it is there , what should I do ??

Contact ThemeGrill about this? They developed both the plugin and the demo content so they should know how it’s supposed to work.
