There’s a known bug with the online file manager.
You’re probably better to use filezilla to upload files 
I know its inconvenient to set up, but once its working it’s actually a lot easier than the online one too

Trying that gives me
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server
fixed it nvm
