Hi, when I tried connecting my domain to InfinityFree, but the domain provider (qourshi.xyz) gave this error: “An error has occurred The specified nameserver is not responsible for this domain.” I contacted the domain provider but they said I needed to message the hosting provider. Because the domain was not currently correctly logged on to the target server. How can I fix this?
What’s your registrar?
The description make me suspect it’s something like this:
yes its working, but i cant connect my domain to infinityfree
Sorry. I thought the site was already on InfinityFree.
Check DNS then retry if didn’t work you can. Not connect the domain
nameservers is connected to dns
So the domain is incompatible with InfinityFree
possibly
Is possible
Your domain name is still not pointing to InfinityFree’s name servers. In fact, it’s not pointing to any name servers.
If you already really did that, you must wait for it to propagate.
UPDATE:
You need to change your name servers to
Right now they are
@qourshi,
You need to change your nameservers to ns1.epoxy.com and ns2.epizy.com. After that, you need to add your domain to a hosting account by clicking the blue “Create Account” button in the client area.
Thanks!
Probably not. Plenty of people host .xyz domains here without any problems. As far as I know, none of the new TLDs can have these pedantic nameserver checks.
I’m pretty sure that this is a registrar restriction, not a registry restriction. So you can try to ask your registrar to bypass the nameserver verification or transfer the domain to a registrar which doesn’t do those checks in the first place.
Am I misreading something or are most other people here?
The main takeaway I get from the first message is this error:
An error has occurred The specified nameserver is not responsible for this domain.
Which makes me pretty sure that this is the issue: Unable to set nameservers: DNS query refused - Docs - InfinityFree Forum
If so, @qourshi is well aware that they need to change the nameservers, because they are trying but unable to do it.
