Hello, I’ve been seeing 521 error in my website since linking it to Cloudflare and using its free SSL service, the first couple hours the site was working with a secure HTTPS and everything but after few hours it went down and it stayed like that for more than 12 hours until it gets online again and this cycle keeps repeating everyday… is there’s any solution to this issue?
Hey there, a 521 error occurs when the origin server (InfinityFree) isn’t responding to the cloudflare request. You can either remove Cloudflare from your site or wait a few days to check if the error persists. A few months ago, Inifityfree experienced a server failure. Most users got the same error. I am probably sure that this is a temporary issue.
And you’ve mentioned SSL. In that case, SSL is not causing an issue; if there were an SSL issue, Cloudflare would display an error code of 526. But your site is not using 100% SSL encryption in the cloud. If you want to use full SSL encryption, you should install an SSL certificate on the origin server, which is InfinityFree.
Thanks for your response, and hopefully this error does not presist and InfinityFree’s servers get fixed. I’ve had a strong guess that the error might be linked to the host’s servers because I went and checked Cloudflare’s settings and everything seemed normal.
But before using cloudflare’s SSL I tried getting SSL from InfinityFree but my request always remained on “pending” that’s why I rushed to cloudflare.
I really have no idea on how long it takes to install an SSL certificate on InfinityFree.
