How do I delete a domain from one account so I can get it on another?
Just delete it from the VPanel
Adding to KangJL’s reply, logging in to your account’s vPanel, you should select the “Addon Domains” option, from where you should find a section where you can delete your domain (it looks similar to this):
A similar process can be followed for any subdomains you may have registered in “Sub Domains”.

Go to your C_Panel, under Domains click on “Addon Domains” and delete it there. Now when you go to deactivate your domain, you shouldn’t see the message that you need to “delete it in c_panel first if you want to use it on another account”.
How do I deactivate it?
You do not need to deactivate the hosting account to be able to move a domain to another one.
Deleting the domain from Addon Domains is alright.
