How can you tell if the site is actually running on the hosting server instead of locally?

maressareyes.great-site.net

(please specify the URL of the site on which you are experiencing the problem)

500 Server closed connection without sending any data back

(please share the FULL error message you see, if applicable)

The error message listed above is what was returned to me when I attempted to use the w3c validation markup service to try to modify my code (I’m trying to resolve a sidebar below content issue). That makes me wonder if the site is even actually running on the remote server instead of locally and how can I be sure?

(other information and details relevant to your question)

That’s because of the security system. Things like that generally won’t work here.

Your site is running on InfinityFree just fine.

InfinityFree’s subdomains can only be used with infinityFree, so the fact that it’s your URL at all means it isn’t just running locally on your computer. Failing that, you can tell where your site is hosted by using a dig tool to view your domain’s DNS records (unless they’re masked by something like Cloudflare). That’s of course assuming I understand what you mean correctly. By locally do you mean your own computer?

Thank you! That’s the answer I needed and yes I did mean my own computer. That explained how it works very well.
