Hosting FTP Clients on Infinityfree

I have created one web FTP Clients in PHP Language, So I Can Easily Access My Code and Store My Files to website easily , But i want to ask, can i host that FTP Clients in free domains given by infinityfree?

I’ve hosted FTP clients on InfinityFree (I’m hosting my own right now) and I haven’t got into any trouble yet. I can’t say if it’s allowed, but seemingly it is.

It doesn’t really fall into the “regular website content” requirement of our terms, and it could lean towards file hosting/sharing, which is not allowed.

It’s a bit in a grey zone. I think it’s fine to try now, but I cannot guarantee that this won’t change in the future.

If any things changes in future, then please inform us in future, i will use for website only, i have built this when Monsta FTP was used in file manager. Can we offer that custom web FTP Client to other?

I’ve done that before, offering my JriFTP clients here. I got in trouble for advertising them.

Plus, some people may not trust your FTP instance, even if you say it’s secure. FTP credentials are very sensitive pieces of info, log into a malicious client and now your Hosting Account could be compromised.

It’s best to keep the client to yourself, for personal use, in my opinion.

What troubled do you face when you advertised it?

That info is private.

But the point is, avoid advertising your FTP client, even if it’s to help others.

Advertising anything on this forum is strictly prohibited, not just FTP clients. But that’s a rule that applies here, anywhere else on the web is fair game. Just be aware of your account’s daily resource limitations.

One of the rules on the forum is no advertising, so as a minimum posts will be flagged and deleted.

If you want to make sure you won’t suddenly get suspended because of this, then the safe thing to do is not host a file manager.

The file manager hosting falls in a gray area of the terms of service, and whether you can host it or not depends on how exactly we choose to enforce the terms of service. We don’t take action against it now, but I cannot make any guarantees that this won’t happen in the future.

And we generally don’t announce it when we change how the terms are enforced. Only when the terms themselves change are we required to do that.

I will not host the FTP service on my current hosting account. However, if I mention on my site that we provide an FTP web client, but actually run it on another subdomain under a different hosting account, will that pose any risk to my current hosting account? Or will the risk only apply to the hosting account where the FTP client is hosted?

Also, I have another question. Can we offer storage services through third-party providers like Firebase? For example, if we create a web page where users can upload files, the files would not be stored on InfinityFree, but directly in Firebase Storage. In this case, InfinityFree would only act as a middle service or interface, not the actual storage provider.

No and no

You must use the service to present a website. Using InfinityFree as a storage proxy is not allowed.

And hosting a file manager on a different account would link it to that original account, they would both be suspended.

I think a VPS might be better for you if you want to do that kind of project. Shared web hosting in general doesn’t allow the service to be used for things like file sharing.

Please understand that the file manager would still be processing large amounts of data being sent through our servers, consuming substantially more bandwidth and memory than websites normally should.

The rule against file hosting is not just due to the storage itself, and it’s still not allowed if you offload the storage elsewhere. Simply loading, processing and transferring the files also puts stress on the server.
