According to Admin’s replies in other threads, imageboards are banned from being hosted on InfinityFree due to commonly being used to share unwanted content.
However, is hosting an imageboard with manual image approval (or manual approval of whole posts, if that wasn’t enough) allowed? There is imageboard software that allows to do that and problem of prohibited media is no longer relevant because moderation needs to review it first before people can see it, even if moderation visits site rarely.
And yes i am talking about hosting a “4chan-style” imageboard site, however adding manual media or whole post approval seems to solve issues related to unwanted content.
I think you may still run into some problems. Remember that when content is awaiting moderation it’s still in the accounts storage, and so any automated checks would still pick up on it.
the TOS cover anything stored on the account, not just the items that are visible on your pages.
Obviously you can wait for admin’s reply. But Even if it’s technically ok you’re still responsible for all content, even anything that is awaiting moderation.
Possibly a silly question, but is there any reason why you wouldn’t host it as a forum instead?
I’m sure you do have a reason, I’m just thinking of possible alternatives that are defiantly safe with the TOS.
I don’t think enforcement regarding image boards is as strict as it used to be.
The practical reality is basically: keep it clean and make sure that you don’t draw any attention to you for bad content. If you’re running a clean ship, we won’t do anything. But if we find that your board is being used for bad content, then there is a good chance that the account will be taken down and not be restored.
So with manual approval (and a good content policy to base the review process on), I don’t see any issues.
