What I’m seeing is: everyday i get high cpu usage while my website is new, but when in cloudflare, i see that i have a very huge traffic that i don’t think it’s real. and the cpu usage graph in the cpanel isn’t the same as the graph when i’m banned for 24h. as you see in the pictures.
I’m using this software:
i use cloudflare and wordpress, i’m installing some plugins as you see in the picture. for FTP i use filezilla
Free Hosting has limited CPU Usage. You should try this plugin:
It will help Control the CPU Usage, and you shouldn’t hit the limit that much.
If you still do, remove Plugins or consider upgrading to Premium Hosting.
i know plugins one of the high cpu usage causes, but here you see how much traffic i have, even when i installed wordpress and the website is empty i had high cpu usage because of this fake traffic, so i started thinking that infinityfree.net doing this to push people to buy premium hosting, because i’m not the only one with the same problem
Infinityfree is not pushing anyone to buy premium!! IMPORTANT: TRAFFIC IS NOT THE SAME AS VISITORS! You don’t even need anyone else to view your site to cause high CPU usage. Just you accessing it can cause high CPU usage due to a lot of resources needed by plugins.
So you’re saying that we and Cloudflare are BOTH lying about the traffic to your website? That we’ve somehow agreed to bully you and give you fake traffic figures for some reason?
It’s not the first time people accuse InfinityFree of doing things like that (we don’t though), but Cloudflare is a big company used by many websites and they are known for being open, transparent and highly value rights like privacy and freedom of speech. They also don’t charge website owners based on traffic. So what reason would Cloudflare have to report fake traffic figures to you?
It is a lot more likely that this traffic is real. It may not be the traffic you were hoping to get on your site, but you’re getting it anyways. Maybe your website got linked to from somewhere and is now getting new visitors. Maybe these are hackers trying to probe your website for vulnerabilities. I don’t know. Having something like Google Analytics with that can help to get more insight into where these people are coming from.
If Cloudflare reports that your website got a lot of traffic, isn’t that the obvious explanation for the CPU usage? If your website gets more traffic, that means more code needs to be executed, which means more load is generated.
Ah, right, that’s possible. I assumed that “fake traffic” meant traffic which did not exist, rather than undesired traffic.
