I have a question about how the daily CPU limit and the usage graph work. I’ve been trying to understand the system for a while, but I’m still confused.
My Situation:
My site was recently suspended for high CPU usage.
I’ve since fixed the issue that was causing the high load, and my site is now running smoothly and stably.
However, the CPU usage graph in my control panel still shows a high starting point (like 60-80%) at the beginning of the new month.
I’m worried that this starting number will cause the system to think I’ve already used a lot of CPU for the day, leading to another suspension even though I’m not actively using many resources.
My Main Questions:
Does the daily CPU limit actually reset to zero every day, or does the graph’s starting number from the previous month affect my current limit? I’ve read conflicting information about this on the forum .
If the CPU limit does reset daily, why does the graph look like it carries over usage from the previous month? Is this a known visual bug, or am I misunderstanding how to read it ?
Is there a way to get a clear, accurate view of my current day’s CPU usage that isn’t based on the rolling 30-day graph ?
I want to make sure I’m not going to get suspended for “past” usage when my site is now stable. An admin once mentioned that hitting the daily limit triggers a 24-hour suspension , but I’m worried this graph glitch is making it seem like I’m hitting the limit every day.
Just keep using your site as normal. Regardless of what the graph seems to show, the system that handles everything on the back end definetly resets to 0 daily. So you’re worrying about nothing
Yes, it does. However, it may be that the suspensions are based on a rolling 24 hour window, whereas the graphs have fixed date cutoff points. There have been cases where someone had CPU usage for a day where their account was not reactivated yet, as well as multiple days below the limit but still was suspended.
If you’re looking at the control panel, then don’t, it displays the data very confusingly. The client area displays the same data but reorganizes it to make it easier to read.
No. The graph data is the data that’s available for display.
I guarantee you: that’s not the case. The graphs are admittedly not great, but the graphs and account limits are both derived from the same underlying server metrics. So the graphs being weird doesn’t make the limits wrong.
What’s weird is inside cpanel panel it displays a graph at some cpu rates and when i reach a day it doesn’t start from 0 but the cpu on the cpanel graph i think my site has a bug since my other infinityfree webs does indeed reset to 0
Yes im very sure as when the starting cpu starts, the whole day usage (after 60 percent of the start of cpu) the site use is 12 - 7+ percent (day not night) only but the start point of cpu is by a bug in ifastnet i think so the issue it doesn’t reset to 0 so if i had 60 percent cpu at the previous month at the same day today this 60 percent is the starting cpu point this is the critical issue, mate its clearly state that if i hit the limits much times i’ll get probably perm ban which is the real danger here.
The graph is not the best tool honestly. And although it’s based on the same data, it’s separate from the suspension system.
Yes if it happens too often you can her suspended, but honestly, unless you’re hitting about 90%+ regularly it’s unlikely to happen.
Of you are genuinely worried, keep a backup of your site just in case.
Out of interest how are you building your site? Because if you’re using something like elementor on WordPress, then it is likely that your CPU usage is high, because that is very CPU heavy
