Google Search Console Cannot Fetch Sitemap (Works in Browser)

Hi everyone,

I’m hosting my site on InfinityFree.

Domain: https://mahesa.my.id
Account: if0_41170632

I’m having a problem with Google Search Console. It says:

“Couldn’t fetch sitemap” / “Sitemap could not be read”

But when I open the sitemap in my browser, it works fine:
https://mahesa.my.id/sitemap.xml

SSL is active (Let’s Encrypt) and robots.txt is set correctly with the sitemap URL inside it.

The XML structure is valid and everything looks normal on my side.

I’m wondering if maybe Googlebot is being blocked or rate limited by the server? Or maybe it’s getting a different response than a normal browser?

Has anyone experienced this before on InfinityFree?
Any ideas what I should check?

We have made sure that Google’s search engine crawler is not blocked from accessing our hosting. However, the validation tools in Search Console may not be part of the exception list and may get blocked.

I checked your site in Google and it does appear to have been indexed. And even the sitemap is in there!

So I think you can ignore this message because it doesn’t appear to affect your actual website indexing.

Yes, I can confirm that my pages are appearing in Google search results. That’s reassuring to know.

I understand now that the issue may only affect the validation tool in Search Console and not the actual indexing.
