Error Message
FTP error: The remote server returned an error: (553) File Name not Allowed Permission Denied
Other Information
I have been successfully uploading now for several months with my software to ftp://185.27.134.11/htdocs/twotwofly/images/west.jpg and also north.jpg images. My own software has not changed but on 14 August 2026 around 0755 British summer time the server started to refuse the uploads. The camera and the 2 laptops are both on a remote site that is not usually manned. Can you let me know what is wrong that has caused this error to suddenly happen please and what I can do to fix it?
Yes, FTP have problem, can not connect
FTP is not down itself, but the domain cannot be resolved because the nameservers are down.
Use 185.27.134.11 to connect to FTP for now instead of ftpupload.net, you might have to accept an SSL warning in FileZilla
Or use the Online File Manager
As for OP, the error message should have nothing to do with the NS outage. Can you try upload a file called test.txt and see if it works? Your error message suggests the file name is banned on free hosting.
It’s work, thank Spookykipper
I got same problems. But i can give more Information around.
After uploading the File the owner is set 0, all rights given. The files not reachable through the website. It fails to overwrite the file, but i can delete it.
I think there is a misconfiguration on the server please fix it soon.
Thanks for info so far. I deleted the files from the folder via the File Manager. When my remote laptops uploaded the next image it worked but after that it no longer uploads again. I am using my own C# Winform app to upload and it does work as we see above. I therefore think that the server will not allow the file to be overwritten which @MarkusGMuc details. I could modify my software to delete the file before then uploading a new one but this seems to be a sticky plaster rather than a fix, this is risky if the server gets changed and goes back to working as it used to. Anyone know if a fix to the server is possible soon please?
