Regardless if we use the control panel file manger or an external product like Filezilla our ftp uploads report as successful however even after refreshing, the uploaded files do not appear. We are well within our quota and have successfully uploaded files previously as in a month ago.
What could be the issue?

You are uploading inside the htdocs
folders, correct?
Some other reasons why your files may be automatically rejected by the system are mentioned here:
If you believe none of the reasons cover your case, can you describe your files in more detail (what are you trying to upload, the file sizes, etc), and/or share an example?
Thanks, no we were uploading since 2020 to a folder not under htdocs so I assume this requirement has changed recently?
To confirm we have moved the folder into htdocs and now our ftp files are seen after uploading again. Guess this must have been mentioned somewhere but we didn’t receive any information about it.
The article which mentions this requirement exists since May 2020, so the requirement existed at least back then, and I believe it existed previously, too. It’s possible the system had bugged and wasn’t enforcing the restriction in your account, but this seems to no longer be the case.
Exactly what @ChrisPAR said. There has never been a legitimate use case to upload files outside of htdocs folders. There is no way for your website to use files outside the htdocs folder, and we don’t allow our storage space to be used for anything other than website files.
Many years ago, it was actually impossible to upload stuff outside of the htdocs folders. Then at some point it was broken. And recently this was fixed.
So basically, you’ve been able to “abuse” our disk space due to a bug. That bug is fixed now.
Is this true even for premium accounts?
