FTP publishing via Mobirise

Mobirise advises the following step to upload/publish a website to a hosting account. But I do not know the name of my root folder. Is it /htdocs as shown in the video on ‘How to upload files with FTP’?

  1. Save changes, and in the Publish window, add the name of your root folder. Keep in mind that the root folder names can vary based on server configuration, hosting provider, or personal settings. Verify the correct root folder path with your specific server setup or hosting provider. Make sure you have permission to write in the selected folder.

Login to your hosting account. It should show

Yes, it should be, I think. I have never used Mobirise myself. Have you tried this already?

Yes, you should put “/htdocs” there. Unless they have fixed it from the last time I used Mobirise though, the FTP port does not work with free hosting for some reason.

If you can’t get it to work, you can always download the files and upload them manually via your own FTP client like FileZilla

Thanks everyone here. Right now Mobirise can’t even export my website to local drive.:frowning: Hopefully, Mobirise can get it fixed before I try to do FTP again.

It looks like that Mobirise couldn’t help with FTP again. Any free, good alternatives to Mobirise? I have seen New Site builders within InfinityFree. Is it a good tool to build a new website for free that can be attached to the hosting account in InfinityFree?

Really? Try restarting your computer then trying that again. Exporting locally should not require anything special, I don’t see why it would not work.
