Welcome to the forum
The file exceeds the file size limit outlined here
InfinityFree is not made for file sharing, or streaming. I’d suggest uploading your MP4 to something like YouTube and then ended it on your site.
So I can still compress it to like 9 mb to upload it?
Not in this context because:
Using InfinityFree to stream video files directly is against the TOS. But if the MP4 files are hosted elsewhere it won’t be a problem (as long as you’re legally allowed to show the videos in question of course).
But in TOS they mention that if the video is streamed to the user is acceptable. So 1 video of this size would be okay no? Im sorry I really just need to understand this while being new to hosting my site.
Its intresting, because the T&C’s are a bit conflicting. In one section it says this:
but later on says:
This suggests that streaming small videos is OK, but its still not ideal.
Given the size of your file, you’re probably better using a service like youtube, and then embedding the youtube player on your site. That way, you get all the advantages of youtubes built for streaming servers, AND it doesn’t use up any of your storage space
The primary purpose of your website cannot be to stream media content. I recommend uploading the video to YouTube or Vimeo and embedding their player on your site.
I admit that the ToS is a bit unclear on this. But the key takeaway is that videos are only accepted as part of regular website content. Like having a video background on a regular page.
If you’re actually building a page where the goal is for people to watch a video, you’ll find that our hosting really is not well suited for this, and you’ll have a much better experience using a video hosting platform for it instead.
