I got a free ssl cert from google but it seems its not accepted by some wordpress plugins. They say the gooogle cert is not tied to a trusted root cert.

The certificate you currently have is tied to a trusted root. However, our hosting does not support installing the so-called CA chain, why is why some systems may have trouble detecting this.

This primarily affects access from automated tools. Virtually all regular visitors will be able to access your site without any problems.

One thing you can try is to request another SSL certificate, but this time select the ZeroSSL or GoGetSSL provider instead of the default Google Trust. If your WordPress plugin dislikes Google Trust specifically, that may solve the issue.

But there is no convenient or sure fire way to fix this. SSL support on free hosting is limited.

How much is this error from the “some WordPress plugins” affecting your website? If a plugin is complaining but it doesn’t affect website functionality, then it may just be safe to ignore.
