hello has infinityfree gone through a massive security update or not I don’t know from past few weeks i am very frustrated that every plugin i install on my WordPress says it cannot set or it cannot open some thing is blocking the connections i think firewall from your side i guess even the most popular security plugin such as jetpack can’t connect to it please help me solve the issue!

Other Information

sure:
this is Jetpack issue:

this is another plugin issue called optimole:

if the jetpack and optimole servers are trying to access your website then they will fail

infinityfree’s free subdomains have a security system in place that only allows access to the site via a web browser supporting javascript and cookies

I think this is probably the issue

but it used to work i still remeber i use these plugins when i was running a blogs and stuff but then why not now?

ah this needs further investigation !

if I get enough spare time i’ll install this and check whats going on

possibly someone else already has an answer ?

On InfinityFree? The system has been in place for at least 5 years (but probably much longer).

If you have a custom domain using an external DNS Zone provider (like Cloudflare), you can bypass it.

no i mean like there was .epizy.com sub domains before i only use it but idk it used to work on it

No, that would have never worked on .epizy.com domains.

Also, Jetpack and other “All-in-one” plugins are not recommended as they use a lot of server power and lead you to suspensions quicker. Most of their functionality is not needed, and if there is something specific you do need, there is probably a better way to do it.

i have been using infinityfree for more than a year or maybe i guess 2 there was and i never faced any issue using it now a days very recently these issues started maybe like a month o 2 for me

Nothing has changed on our end as far as I know. I cannot guarantee that nothing was changed though.

Please do consider that this may not have been caused by a change on our end. If the plugin you’re using has changed, or the services it talks to have changed how they interact with your website, that may also cause things to break. Please remember putting the blame on someone else doesn’t mean that someone else caused the issue.

What I can tell you is that we have had a security system from the start that should prevent these plugins from working. Optimole is correct that it’s (pretty much) a firewall blocking it. And unfortunately, we cannot make exceptions to it.

i see i am not blaming infinityfree what i mean is that all plugin use to work properly before but now days most of them dont work even though they are updated regularly thanks for your reaply/help !

and also my website constantly shows databse connection error of wordpress this use to happen before it self but when we reload it uses to work agian but now a days we need to keep refreshing constantly to make it work

Do you also know what the connection issue actually is? If you can reproduce it, you could enable WP_DEBUG and see the actual connection error.

sure every thing mostly says its api error but let me just have a try on wp debug but i i dont know how to do it though?

and addition to this infinityfree was much faster before but now woocomerce are all loading very slow than before idk why!

WP_DEBUG is a configuration value you can enable that makes WordPress show PHP errors on the page, which is useful for debugging.
