Error establishing a database connection sql212.byetcluster.com

I am getting

Error establishing a database connection

This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at sql212.byetcluster.com. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

  • Are you sure you have the correct username and password?
  • Are you sure you have typed the correct hostname?
  • Are you sure the database server is running?

If you’re unsure what these terms mean you should probably contact your host. If you still need help you can always visit the WordPress Support Forums.

Username epiz_28363178
Password ************ Show/Hide
Status ACTIVE
Label Website for tedxcarmelca.org
Main Domain emccspwm.epizy.com
Website IP 185.27.134.218

MySQL Username epiz_28363178

MySQL Hostname sql212.epizy.com
MySQL Port (optional) 3306
Database Name epiz_28363178_XXX

Does the wp-config.php file match that information?

The issue is that you have wrong info in the wp-config.php file. Your error says it was trying to accesss “sql212.byetcluster.com” but you are on “sql212.epizy.com

It does not matter, they are the same. There must be another issue, such as a wrong password.

“Error establishing a database connection” could mean anything. Could you please try enabling WP_DEBUG mode and refresh the page to get an actual error message?

Well, it is up now. I didn’t do anything.

It is super slow though.

Well it is a WordPress site! Delete as many plugins as possible, and create a cron job in the control panel for 1hr and 5min to help.

We had some load issues on that server, which may not have subsided completely yet. Your account may have been affected by that too.

Either you can wait for the load to go down on it’s own, or create a new hosting account and move your website to it.
