I was wondering if it was possible to use roundcube on my website through imap/smtp provided by another service/server. Would this be possible? i know on regular servers you can configure roundcube, just wondering if it’s possible through the cpanel or any other way. Thanks in advance!
I think you can install RoundCube here, but you will only be able to use the SMTP functions, because IIRC IMAP is blocked.
thanks for the response, how do i install roundcube? i can access the login section through my cpanel but its using infinityfree accounts, and I can’t find a way to set it up with my other provider.
You’ll have to install RoundCube manually, as it is not available through Softaculous.
Thanks for the quick response, and I’m sorry for being a beginner to this, but how can i install roundcube through the cpanel? is it possible through ftp or is there a separate tool for this kind of thing?
You can’t install RoundCube through vPanel or Softaculous here. You’ll need to manually install it via FTP.

I am trying to install roundcube via this tutorial. I have uploaded the roundcube files, but when I try to go to seasons.email/roundcube/installer/, I am met with a 403 (Forbidden) error. Is there any way to give permissions to this index? I have tried seasons.email/roundcube and seasons.email/htdocs/roundcube, and they both give me a 403, but when I go to seasons.email/assets/, I am shown a directory listing as normal.
below is an image of my websites file tree.
Is this just a DNS issue? Any help appreciated!
I get a 404, not a 403. Try clearing your cache:
now I’m also getting a 404, but I have no clue how. How can seasons.email/assets work but not seasons.email/roundcube? they are in the same folder with the same permissions. Any ideas?
I think I may have found the issue.
the logs folder has bad perms (xxx), but when i try to set it to 755, i get a message saying
Response: 550 Could not change perms on logs: Permission denied
I cant change it through the cpanel file manager or filezilla.
Most likely you have locked yourself out of that folder. You can either (A) ignore it, or (B), delete the hosting account and create a new one.
just looked at it again and you’re right, it set its permissions to 00 for some reason. I’m making a new account now, thanks everyone for their help.
