Downgrade PHP Version

Dear support,

My username is “if0_35865422”,
And i was wondering
If i can somehow downgrade my PHP version from 8.2 to 7.3/7.4.
That would be very helpful to me in this kind of situation.

Thanks.

Also, i want to add,
If this bizarre changing of PHP versions requires to have a premium of some kind,
Then i will kindly switch on GoogieHost,
Because they don’t force you to that.
You can simply switch PHP versions from 5 to 8.

Welcome to the forum!

InfinityFree does not allow you to change your PHP version because older versions contain security flaws. You will have to upgrade to premium.

Yes, it does.

Thanks for the info.
I’l just switch to GoogieHost then…
Free switching PHP versions + no annoying ads.

Peace!

InfinityFree is for-profit, not a charity. And the only ads that you see are on the Client Area and Forum.

Farewell.

If you would rather deal with an unmaintained (and vulnerable) version of PHP instead of making your code compatible with the maintained version then sure go ahead, your website security is in your own hands!

And that’s what she says
Like i dont know that…

No, I don’t think Admin will shut this down. And what BS have we “barked”? I assume you’re talking about the PHP version, but, nowhere in the main website does it say that it supports version change.

InfinityFree has to host thousands of sites under one server. And if one website on that server is exposed to a security vulnerability, then the whole server could be vulnerable. In this case, if there was a vulnerability in your website (which there will with older versions), then you would be held accountable. Your account would be suspended, and I don’t think anyone wants that.

It isn’t just for your website’s safety, it is for all of the websites.

I’m not really sure what you’re trying to accomplish. If you wish to leave, then leave. Nobody is forcing you to stay. Good luck with your new provider. I would be careful if I were you though, there’s a reason why free accounts don’t have the ability to change their PHP version anymore.
