Why can’t I create an additional domain, because I get the message (it is already assigned and in use.2).
Do I have to wait 72 hours?

  2. Please share the domain name that you are trying to add

If it says the domain is already assigned and in use, it means the domain is in use. And if so, you need to manually remove it from wherever it’s in use now to add it here.

Maybe you could try plugging it in the Domain Checker in the client area? It will tell you if the domain is assigned to an account, on which provider the account is or, if the account is yours, which account.
