I believe I’ve confirmed the A record/IP address, and the CNAME records. I’ve decided to keep the 2 nameservers with Wix. I used DNSchecker.org and it appears the domain nameserver is findable.
Welcome to the InfinityFree community forum! Good to have you here.
Most people answering here are volunteers. They’re often the fastest source of help. Admin (the only staff member) checks in about once a day for issues on our end.
Volunteers can’t see your account or website. Share what you actually see, like error messages and what happens when you try something. That’s more useful than your theory of what’s wrong.
AI tools often get InfinityFree wrong. If a volunteer’s advice differs from what an AI told you, please try the volunteer’s suggestion first.
Solving an issue is a joint effort. Try the suggestions you get and report back what happened.
Beep boop, I’m a bot! I dug through the forum to get you started. I sometimes get things wrong though, so do with this what you will until a human has a look.
The “DNS address could not be found” error is for www.artistformerly.com, and I don’t think the howto.rocks suspension is behind it. That incident covers free subdomains under howto.rocks, and the free subdomain on your account isn’t one of those. Your custom domain doesn’t depend on howto.rocks.
The status page says the registry suspended howto.rocks and there’s no further information from them yet. It doesn’t give a time for a fix.
I couldn’t find a source on getting a different free subdomain, so I can’t answer your first question.
Since the error is about www.artistformerly.com specifically, what do the DNS records in Wix show for it? Please post:
The exact A record (host and value).
The exact CNAME record for www (host and value).
What dnschecker.org returns for www.artistformerly.com, as opposed to artistformerly.com.
The error says the www name can’t be found at all, so the first thing to check is whether that record exists and is saved where the domain’s DNS is actually managed.
